underestimated him. David couldn’t remember a time in his life when this wasn’t
true. Vicki and Michela didn’t do it – much – but everyone else did, including his
own father. He bet his mother wouldn’t, though. He had a feeling that soon, he’d
find that out in real life, too, not just his dreams.
But for now, he had to put up with
people ignoring him. Not out right, obviously, but things like what was going
to happen tonight. He knew some big meeting was going to happen, and he knew he
wasn’t invited. Because he was a kid.
